Liquitex ultra-matte medium allows the artist to thin acrylic paint without changing the hue, however, after a 50-50 dilution, it will lighten colours and/or change the opacity of the paint, making it an excellent medium for glazing.
It can also be used to increase the volume of acrylic paint, for working impastos, as an adhesive, as a binder for powdered pigments, to create intersting textures, and for image transfers.
This medium is less viscous than the gel version and is suitable for all supports.
It is incompatible with oil paint.
It is not recommended to mix more than 25% water.
